It also doesn't happen 100% of the time, just occasionally, but once it starts the only way to stop it is to leave fullscreen, change the resolution, or restart the game. If anyone is able to explain how I can disable this eternal day and just set gamerule dodaylightcycle false, this may solve my issue. I just broke a tree and the leaf decay also makes the screen flicker. It appears to also happen when sheep eat too, I haven't tried redstone to see if it happens every time a block updates.
