Web35s with stock axles isn't recommended. I've seen it done, but its not the best way to do things. I'd only drive with 35s on the street, I'd never offroad an XJ with 35s on stock axles. Some people do, but that's with significant upgrades like chrome moly axle shafts, trusses, heavy duty Ujoints, and other mods like sleeving tubes. I changed my 2014 auto trans JK from 3.21 to 4.56 gears, and ran 35" tires for a while, and then moved up to 37" tires. The Jeep ran good with both 35s and 37s, and a 4.56 ratio will work well with either tire size. I really think 4.88 gears would be the same way.
