WebI am an empath, so yes. Autism has little effect on a person’s ability to empathize. What it does have an effect on is one’s ability to understand others and to express empathy. When I see a person in pain, I can physically feel a portion of that pain. I get a second pain in my chest when I so much as think about that sort of thing.
