WebJul 17, 2014 · No difference between 15 in-lbs and 20 in-lbs torque on the action bolts, but I didn't test extensively. Before bedding, any change in action torque would move the first shot a bunch. Separate issue--I put in the Apachee Trigger parts and they work great. I increased the trigger pull to 2 lb from 1.5, though. WebSep 2, 2024 · Boyds suggests 27.5 pounds. I used the FixIt Sticks 25-pound torque setting, which seemed to work perfectly. Would glass-bedding have helped? Maybe. But one of the reasons I think the Boyds stocks work so well without bedding is because the recoil lug recess is not oversized (as you might find on many other aftermarket stocks).

Only trouble is I'm not sure if the extra cash to get it pillar and glass bedded is worth getting on top of the new stock to begin with. I also have a M77 MKII that I installed a Boyd's stock on over a year ago and that turned out real well. I really like the heavy grain you get with a laminated stock.
